2013 Dodge Charger Daytona |
Many people are surprised to learn that Dodge released the first Charger Daytona back in 1969. When it was released, the 1969 Charger Daytona won the Talladega 500 race. As a result of this win and several others following, people everywhere were instantly drawn to this modified version of the already-popular Charger. Some people looked to own them for everyday driving, while others wanted to race them. In any case, you can rest assured knowing that you’re getting one heck of a powerful engine in the Dodge Daytona Charger.
The latest model of the Dodge Charger Daytona was in 2009. It featured a classic Charger body style with a rear and front spoiler and a strip displaying the word “DAYTONA” across the back. Of course the real beauty of the 2009 Charger Daytona was the engine. It contained a Variable Camshaft Timing Hemi that was capable of reaching 360+ horsepower.
As you can see, the earlier model Dodge Charger Daytonas were some powerful muscle cars, so does the new 2013 model live up to the hype? The first thing you’ll notice is an almost completely unrecognizable body style that differs from previous models. It has a smoother, more aerodynamic design that other models lacked. The Charger Daytona that was unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show features a light blue color that was vibrant and bold.
Under the hood, the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona has the same 5.7 V8 Hemi engine that’s capable of producing over 360 horsepower. Currently, Dodge has made the decision to leave the engine untouched, which is a good choice in my opinion. The bottom line is that there aren’t many cars that can top the stock engine found in the 2009 and 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona.
