Although there’s nothing wrong with factory cars, you can make them attractive and increase their performance with some basic modifications. Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to go about modifying their car; therefore, they leave it in factory condition. The fact is, however, that there a number of simple easy-to-do modifications that just about anyone can do, regardless of his or her experience. If you’re looking to transform or just improve the look of your car, keep reading and we’ll go over some of these simple car modifications.

Stereo

Lets face it, everyone needs a good stereo system to fully enjoy their riding experience. When you’re stuck in rush hour traffic, you can turn turn on some of your favorite tunes to help pass the time. Contrary to what many people believe, purchasing and installing a new car stereo system doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. If you’re willing to buy a used one, you can find a deck, sub-woofers and amplifier on the aftermarket for a fraction of their original price. Installing it is fairly easy too, as the instructions should walk you through the step-by-step process. Just be sure to pick up a wiring harness before you attempt to install your new stereo.

Spoiler

A spoiler is another item that’s fairly easy to install and isn’t going to break your bank account. If you enjoy the stylish look of a spoiler, you should consider getting one for your car. Don’t feel like you have limit yourself to a spoiler that’s the exact same color as your car, because using different colored spoilers oftentimes looks better. For instance, many owners prefer black spoilers on their white cars, as the two colors contrast with one another. It’s important to note that different spoilers are made for different cars, so you’ll need to look for one that’s designed for your make and model. Depending on the spoiler you decide to go with, installation usually requires a couple small holes drilled into the trunk to secure the spoiler. Once you’ve drilled the holes, you’ll line the spoiler up over them and add the screws.

Rims

The bottom line is that you need to invest in a set of rims if you care about how your car looks. Factory wheels can get you by just fine, but there’s nothing that compares to the high-quality, stylish look provided by a good set of rims. Whether you want to go with the wire, 4-prong, 5-prong or any other type is up to you. Just find a style and color that matches your car’s look to replace the old ones with.
