2014 Maserati Quattroporte |
What’s Under The Hood?
As you can expect, details regarding the 2013 Maserati Quattroporte have been kept under close wraps without revealing any hints of what’s powering the engine. The only thing we do know is that it uses a custom engine designed by Ferrari engineers. With that said, I think it’s safe to say that the new Quattroporte is going to have some serious horsepower behind it.The previous 2004 Maserati Quattroporte featured a 4.2-liter V-8 engine that was capable of producing over 400 horsepower. If you’re looking for a fast and safe sedan, there aren’t too many cars that compare to the 2004 Maserati Quattroporte. Of course the 2013 is almost certain to have some major under-the-hood improvements, giving it an edge over the previous model. Unless further details are leaked regarding its engine and horsepower capabilities, we’ll have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show in January to find out what kind of power it’s packing.
Many people are surprised to learn that Maserati has been in the automotive manufacturing business for nearly a century. During that time, they’ve made quite a name for themselves with high-end automobiles and luxury sports cars. In recent years, the company has also been focusing on sedans such as the Quattroporte. By 2015, Maserati hopes to see their production numbers jump to roughly 50,000 per year with the Quattroporte helping to boost these numbers.
